Safeguarding children & adolescents

Promoting their welfare by protecting them from maltreatment and things which negatively affect their health and development, and ensuring they grow up in an environment that allows safe and effective care.

Safeguarding adults

Promoting their wellbeing, understanding their wishes, and taking their feelings and beliefs into account; protecting their rights to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect; and working together to prevent the risk of abuse or neglect from happening.

Why it matters

Safeguarding improves mental health, reduces social isolation and loneliness, and increases engagement in specialist support — reducing the need to access crisis support in public services.

Our commitment

Safeguarding policies and procedures are in place and are regularly reviewed. All staff at PsychSense have attended accredited safeguarding training and have enhanced DBS checks.

Supervision

All practitioners at PsychSense work as part of a multidisciplinary team, with access to support from one another through regular supervision. This support serves to provide clinical advice and consultation, but also allows individuals to process and manage the emotional demands that can be encountered when working with children, young people, their families and carers. Well-supported practitioners provide good care to our families.

Practitioners working as independent contractors with PsychSense have additional access to external supervision monthly.
