Dr Naomi Oteh

Dr Naomi Oteh is a Consultant Psychiatrist with specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed her medical training at Cardiff University in 2013, during which time she also earned a first class intercalated BSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at Bangor University in 2012. She went on to complete an MSc in Mental Health Research with distinction at UCL during her psychiatry training in London. Dr Oteh is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and balances her work as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the NHS alongside her independent integrative (naturopathic) practice.

Dr Oteh was drawn to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry because of the systemic nature of its practice — to make sense of a child's presenting needs, they must be considered in the context of the system around them, such as home and family life, school and relationships, and the wider community.

Dr Oteh believes optimal health and wellbeing require an integrative and systemic approach which addresses the root cause of symptoms and considers mental and physical health as one. This understanding has led her to pursue further training in ecological (functional) medicine through the British Society of Ecological Medicine (BSEM), where she is a member with dual GMC and mGNC (assoc) membership. She has apprenticed under Dr Sarah Myhill and has worked in independent naturopathic practice since 2022, for both adult and child populations.

Dr Oteh has been described by patients as the 'Queen of CAMHS', and by colleagues as having a 'wealth of knowledge' and being 'helpful in making decisions regarding care planning'.
